# QRowl > QRowl is software that connects product packaging to branded product pages. Teams publish a page, print a QR, and keep that page current after the packaging is printed. When a product already has a GTIN, QRowl can build a GS1 Digital Link URL. QRowl does not issue GTINs or GS1 company prefixes. A scan opens the product page in a phone browser. No customer app is required. A recognized code and scan activity do not prove that a physical product is authentic. ## Pages - [Home](https://qrowl.ink/): Product pages, QR codes, and GS1 Digital Link - [Plans](https://qrowl.ink/plans): Hosted workspace limits and monthly prices - [Privacy Policy](https://qrowl.ink/privacy): How account, catalog, and scan data are handled - [Terms of Service](https://qrowl.ink/terms): Hosted service terms, including GS1 identifier responsibility - [Cookies](https://qrowl.ink/cookies): Strictly necessary cookies only; no advertising trackers ## Optional - [Full facts for assistants](https://qrowl.ink/llms-full.txt): Longer product facts, plan names, and the public FAQ ## Product facts - QRowl publishes branded product pages and generates QR codes for those pages. - Each product can keep a stable QRowl URL so the published page can change after a QR is printed. - GS1 Digital Link URLs are available when a product has a GTIN. Lot (AI 10), expiry (AI 17), and serial (AI 21) can be included for batch and unit codes. - If lot, expiry, or serial values change, the Digital Link URL changes too. - QRowl does not sell GS1 memberships, issue GTINs, or assign GS1 company prefixes. - Customers scan with a compatible camera or QR reader. The page opens in the browser. - Product, batch, and unit codes are different: product codes open the shared page; batch codes can add lot, expiry, and recall notices; unit codes identify a single item and track scan count and last scan time. - A scan is not a proof of authenticity. Scan activity and recall notices are operational context for the team that published the page. - Workspaces can add a logo, brand colors, and a product page layout. Growth includes one verified custom domain; Scale includes three. Printed QR and Digital Link URLs still use the QRowl platform host. - QRowl can be used as a hosted workspace or as a self-hosted PHP application. Self-hosted operators run updates, backups, and domain setup themselves. ## Hosted plans - Free: $0 USD per workspace per month; 1 product, 1 brand, 1 team member. - Starter: $19 USD per workspace per month, or $180 billed yearly (20% off); 25 products, 1 brand, 3 team members. - Growth: $49 USD per workspace per month, or $468 billed yearly (20% off); 100 products, 5 brands, 10 team members. - Scale: $149 USD per workspace per month, or $1,428 billed yearly (20% off); 1000 products, 25 brands, 50 team members. - Free is $0 with no checkout. Paid prices are confirmed in checkout. Self-hosted installs are licensed separately. ## FAQ Q: Is this GS1 Digital Link? A: Yes, when a product has a GTIN and your workspace can use Digital Link. QRowl builds GS1 Digital Link URLs from your GTINs, and can include lot, expiry, and serial for batch and unit codes. QRowl does not issue GTINs or sell GS1 company prefixes. Q: Do customers need to download an app? A: No. Customers can scan the QR with a compatible phone camera or QR reader. The product page opens in their browser. Q: Can I update information after the QR is printed? A: Yes for QRowl product links: each product keeps a stable URL, so you can edit the published page without changing that link. GS1 Digital Link paths include the GTIN and any lot, expiry, or serial you encode—if those values change, the Digital Link URL changes too. Q: Do I need a GTIN to use QRowl? A: No. You can publish product pages and generate QRowl links without a GTIN. If your organization has GTINs, QRowl can use them for GS1 Digital Link URLs. Q: Can I use my own branding and domain? A: Yes. You can add your logo, set brand colors, and choose a product page layout. Growth includes one verified custom domain; Scale includes three. Printed QR and Digital Link URLs still use the QRowl platform host. Q: What is the difference between product, batch, and unit codes? A: A product code opens the shared product page. A batch code can add lot and expiry context, including recall notices when a batch is recalled. A unit code identifies an individual item and tracks its scan count and last scan time. Q: Does a scan prove a product is authentic? A: No. A recognized code and scan activity give useful context, but they do not prove physical authenticity. QRowl can show batch recall information and simple scan alerts to help teams investigate. Q: Can we host QRowl ourselves? A: Yes. QRowl supports self-hosted deployment on compatible PHP hosting, including cPanel, Docker, and VPS setups. Your team is responsible for operating the installation, including updates, backups, and domain configuration.
